 rete Math Seminar\nTuesday, September 23rd, 2025\n4:00PM-4:50PM\nOlin Hall

-firing and Zero-forcing number of graphs.\nAbstract: In this talk, we wil
l describe a couple of discrete dynamical systems on graphs. Namely, the c
hip-firing and the zero-forcing processes. Then, we will relate these games
on the graph with an algebraic invariant, called the algebraic co-rank, d
efined through the determinantal ideals of the graph.More precisely, as we
explore some examples, we will see how that the algebraic co-rank works a
s a bound for different concepts. Finally, we will see a brief description
of known results, as well as open problems.\n
